Leafs 100th Birthday

On December 19th, 2017, the Toronto Maple Leafs celebrated their 100th birthday as a club. To build the excitement in their school network, the Future Goals team worked in tandem with the Leafs to hand-select 15 schools in the Greater Toronto Area to host a viewing party of their game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Each school received a Next Century Game “Toolkit” that included tickets and signed items for a school fundraiser, as well as rally towels, toques, and a giant flag to display the schools’ Leafs pride. With the game starting at 2pm, each school began their viewing party at 1:45pm to prepare for the puck drop!

Over 5,000 students were watching the game across 15 schools, and two welcomed media to broadcast the celebration. Check the Future Goals Twitter (@FutureGoalsSTEM) to see videos, images and more from schools that participated in the party.
