Tell us about yourself!

I have been teaching for 7 years with all of them being in 5th grade. In all of the three buildings I have been in it has been the top of the elementary school so we teach all subject areas. I decided to become a teacher because of the impact you can have on a child’s life. Every day of teaching is unique and presents its own challenges which is why I have grown to love the profession so much. In addition, I coach boys varsity volleyball at the high school developing kids in different aspects at a different age group. With our varsity team, we have done many youth outreach programs to get younger boys at the elementary and middle school level more involved with volleyball.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Tage Thompson – his shot is unbelievable

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I love how it engages the students. We have a large portion of our population (Girls and Boys) that participate in hockey. Many actually play for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. As a hockey referee of almost 20 years I love when I can apply sports in school.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

Defense — being tall you’re seen as an enforcer
