Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher because I enjoy working with students and developing a strong rapport with them. It’s very fulfilling to see students grow and mature; I hope I’ve played a part in their development and they’ve enjoyed fifth grade!

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

My favorite moment probably was when I found out that I was hired at Harman. I completed a practicum and student-taught here, so I was ecstatic when a fifth-grade position became available. My family and I reside in Oakwood, my two sons, Conrad and Hudson, will attend Harman, so we’re very invested in this wonderful community!

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

My favorite part of Hockey scholars is that it comprehensively integrates math and science concepts into an enjoyable sport that students can get excited about!

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

My students enjoy the interactive, engaging activities that are included in the Hockey Scholars program. The courses requires students to think deeply and apply the knowledge they learned.

What is your favorite NHL Player?

Seth Jones!
