Tell us about yourself!

My name is Christie Danielli and I am a 7th year teacher. I currently teach a 6th grade course called Academy Connect. We teach students the skills they will need to succeed in middle school and beyond such as different technology platforms as well has different study skills. I chose to become a teacher (and former coach) to help give kids the opportunity to find what they excel at and take pride in their accomplishments and differences from others. What I love the most is when students master a skill and then turn around and help their peers get that same knowledge.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

My current favorite NHL player is Roope Hintz. He’s had injury setbacks and has kept a positive mindset to overcome them and push both himself and his team to be better.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part of the Future Goals programs are that kids are able to see the real world applications of learning both math and science. The programs show students that “I don’t need to to know how to do that because I’m going to be a professional athlete” just isn’t true.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I have never played hockey before but I’d probably chose to play Goalie since I have experience in that position with both soccer and lacrosse.
