Why did you decide to become a teacher?

To help children learn in a safe and caring environment

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Anytime a student understands something that had been challenging and has their “Ah ha!” moment. It’s amazing to get to be part of building a student’s understanding.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

That it is student paced and that students must show understanding before moving on to a new activity. Students are able to log into their course anytime they have completed classwork and work at their own pace. Future goals integrates with our math and science outcomes in grade 6 and stretches their thinking using real life situations.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

My students love Hockey so they were pumped to start this course.

Who is your favorite hockey player?

Drake Batherson (AHL) because he’s a fellow Nova Scotian!
