Future Goals Day Opens NHL All-Star Fan Fair
Known for its beautiful weather and celebrity presence, Los Angeles, California, was the home to 2017 NHL All Star.
As a part of the event’s festivities, the NHL had a Fan Fair, attracting the public for numerous hockey-related activities and celebrating the game everyone loves. To kick off the opening, the league had a few special guests enter before the general public could even step inside.
Two thousand Future Goals students from Greater Los Angeles made their way into Fan Fair on the morning of January 26, excited to partake in a one-of-a-kind experience. Greeted by Kings in-arena host, Jay Flats, the kids took a seat to hear from multiple special guests.
Those guests included U.S. Women’s National Team goalie, Alex Rigsby, Director of Operations at Staples Center, Armen Dembakjian, and legend — the first African American NHL player — Willie O’Ree. This star-studded cast outlined how STEM and hockey are related, along with advice on life that couldn’t be bought
After the panel, the real fun began! Students were released to check out all the activities that Fan Fair had to offer, with the final act: a mascot dodgeball game. Does it get any better than that?
