The Largest Future Goals Event – Blackhawks Open Practice!

On February 8th, 2018, the Chicago Blackhawks opened the doors to the United Center for a whopping 5,500 students from the Chicago area, mainly Chicago Public Schools.

This event marked the largest Future Goals event done by an NHL club. The Blackhawks have grown their open practice event drastically each year, starting with around 300 students, to 2,000, all the way over 5,000!

Additionally, the STEM Panel consisted of videos instead of in-person, which was also a hit. With so many students, the best way to keep their attention would be informative videos, which also included multiple STEM trivia questions that may have been the highlight of the field trip.

While the crowd was huge (and filled the lower bowl), our 1st place winners from the #AllStarSpiritWeek were also in attendance! Wentworth Elementary wore their custom spirit week shirts to cheer on the Blackhawks as they prepared for the game that night. For many, this was their first time in the United Center and they were beyond excited to be there!
