Tell us about yourself!

I have been teaching at Stony Point Elementary for 25 years and teach third grade. I had so many incredible teachers here in North Rockland who inspired me when I was growing up. I wanted to inspire my students too. Seeing my students grow and develop is truly rewarding! I have coached the Varsity Tennis Teams at North Rockland for the last twenty-one years. I also help run our North Rockland Charity Sports Day that helps raise awareness and money for the Boomer Esiason Foundation, Friends of Karen, Stand Up To Cancer and Tiny NR Helpers.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Adam Fox

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

Future Goals is an awesome interactive program that the students really love using! Sometimes they go on during their independent time for exploration and on other occasions we use it to reinforce the skills learned in the classroom. Future Goals has been amazing to use in class! Incorporating STEM in class is so important for our students in developing their critical thinking skills! The Future Goals program has really inspired my students! Just like in STEM, hockey incorporates physics and angles, engineering, and more.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

If I played hockey, I would play defense. A defender plays a huge role on a hockey team. They stop their opponents from scoring and are able to pass the puck to their offensive line to finish the play and score.
