Tell us about yourself!

Hi, my name is Chelsea Black and I am in my 4th year teaching 4th grade at Westview elementary. I love this school and all of the people I work with and am so lucky to be doing what I am doing! Aside from teaching, I run many clubs at the school including Student Leadership, Battle of the Books, Cursive Club, and Girls on the Run. I love getting to watch my students grow as students and humans every day.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Erik Johnson-he’s been with the team through the highs and the lows and he is such a big force for the team.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

It has been really cool to see my students get so excited and working towards winning the trophies. They are doing math way above grade level and enjoying doing it.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would want to be a center, because I love how much strategy goes into their ice positioning and passing.
