I have been teaching World Languages French and Spanish for more than 20 years. I love to teach because I like children.

Feeding the homeless on the streets of South Florida is my passion! For more than 10 years I have worked with teams and with homeless shelters to provide hot meals, clothing, and comfort for homeless individuals, including some with small children.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part of the Future Goals program is that it allows the students to simulate the game of hockey using interesting gaming techniques. They enjoyed that as it brought to life the topic of sports in their textbook. STEM is embedded in the World Languages curriculum. I used the Future Goals program to speak about STEM in designing hockey equipment, creating educational games, and learning the scientific aspects of becoming a pro player.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Florida Panthers Forward Aleksander Barkov is my favorite player because he has made a great humanitarian contribution to his community. He understands the importance of caring for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would definitely be a goalie! I would defend my team’s net and defeat all opposing teams!
