Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I want to give my students the tools they need to be successful as people and have a positive impact on our society.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

There are so many great moments from the last decade, but I enjoy running into my students after I have taught them and they tell me what they are up to now. It’s nice to see them grow as people and that they actually remember me.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

I’m using it currently as part of my health curriculum and I have a lot of students who play or enjoy hockey/sports and this is a great practical tool for them.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

They always say “Oh cool, look at what I can do with this!”

Who is your favorite player?

Even though he is retired, Jarome Iginla has always been my favorite. I still have a bookmark from the Flames reading program in the 1990s that features him when he started with the Flames.
