Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher because I wanted to teach science to children using the hands-on approach so they could remember science forever.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

There are many memorable moments. My most exciting moments are when the students are completing projects using the engineering design process, for example: The students had to design their own models of arctic sleeping bags for explorers that search for discoveries in the arctic. It’s amazing to see what 6th grade brains can research and design and then test to see if it would work!!

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

My favorite part of Future Goals are the interactive parts. The students enjoy the program because of this yet the program is challenging. When we are in school, the students only have Chromebooks once a week on Fridays so that is when they are assigned to work on a lesson.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

Most students really like it and never complain. Sometimes there are complaints that the quizzes are too difficult, but I always tell them to take some notes while interacting with the program so they have an easier time with the quizzes.

Who is your favorite hockey player?

Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are my personal favorite players because they are so talented and just love to watch them on the ice.
