Tell us about yourself!

Most students are actively engaged and enjoy learning about the career opportunities that are available to them. I teach 7th and 8th ELA. I have been teaching for 15 years. I decided to become a teacher to help prepare students for the future and be successful in their future endeavors. My most memorable moment as a teacher is keeping in contacts with students that moved to their homeland countries which include Taiwan and Mexico. I enjoy following their education and accomplishments. My favorite part of Future Goals are the tutorials and STEAM activities that allow students to engage in especially in a sport that most had little knowledge about. The pre and post assessment are another great tool. I tutor English language learners during the summer. Students engage in literacy activities to enhance their English skills and works toward proficiency in English. I volunteer at Genesis Gardens which provides fresh fruit and vegetables to the community for free.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

My favorite team is the Chicago Blackhawks because I was born and raised in Chicago. It was always an interactive and exciting sport.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part of Future Goals are the tutorials and STEAM activities that allow students to engage in especially in a sport that most had little knowledge about. The pre and post assessment are another great tool.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would rather be a goalie because I am able to play defense and it is a challenging position to play. I would enjoy the pressure and I feel empowered to protect my team.
