Tell us about yourself!

I began my teaching career out of college. I worked at a brain injury clinic in Massachusetts. My career started in Special Education working with behaviorally challenged students. I didn’t like school much as a kid so I could relate them on that level. I worked in Special Education for 15 years and then moved to math. I needed a new challenge. I always taught at the middle school level. I just began teaching elementary the last two years and I love it. I teach because I love working with kids. It’s not the education piece that I like best. It’s trying to be a good role model and to develop students into productive positive members of society!

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I enjoy the engineering aspect of the program. There is a ton of science and math that can be easily relatable to the game and it’s easy to get kids excited about learning when they can relate to the subject.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

Defense- I like protecting the goalie and initiating the plays.
