Tell us about yourself!

My name is Samantha Stouber. I have been a teacher in the NYC DOE for 24 years. I decided to become a teacher over 25 years ago because I liked kids and wanted to make a difference in their lives. I started out in a self-contained special education class and after four years moved into my schools technology position. I teach mostly, 4th – 8th grade students technology and support core curriculum teachers using various programs. I became STEM certified and in addition to teaching technology taught 4th grade STEM for two years. I liked seeing students have the “AHA” moments when they came up with solutions for problems that were challenging.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I like that the program is self-paced for my students and that they realized that STEM relates to a game that they are interested in.
