I am a 4th Grade Teacher at Guardian Angel Academy in Pittsburgh, PA. I actually am teaching at the elementary school I attended as a child. I have been teaching since 2009. I love teaching and incorporating STEM into my lessons.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

My favorite NHL player is Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins. Sidney and I share a birth year and I always feel like I’ve connected to watching him over the years since we are the same age. Plus, he’s a really good hockey player!

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I love how the Future Goals program incorporates Math with Hockey. I have many Pittsburgh Penguin fans in my classroom. I love seeing students putting their math skills into place with a sport that they love. In hockey, I see STEM as the “what ifs”. What if the player did something different? What if the goalie didn’t catch the puck?
