Why did you decide to become a teacher?

My love for science!

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

When I constructed a cardboard costume and dressed as Optimus Prime for the school science fair, and when my students won the Science of Baseball Science fair with the Oakland A’s!!

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

The Faceoff – I use Future Goals during our unit on Gravity and Kinetic energy, and also Newton’s Laws of Motion.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

They like it very much. In fact, I taught it during an elective STEM course last year and the students in the other elective wanted to do it. I’m getting ready to launch it again this year in Science so everyone can do it. I’ll have the students who are familiar with it lead breakout rooms in Zoom with first timers, because we didn’t finish (the school closed in March)

Who is your favorite hockey player?

Patrick Marleau, because he’s so persistent. Also, he’s most popular with my students and the Canadian teachers!
