Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher because I wanted to share my passion for computer science and technology while making a difference in as many student’s lives as possible.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

One of my most memorable moments as a teacher was when a former student wrote to me right before he went off to college and thanked me for introducing him to computer science. In high school he went on to become the captain of the Robotics team and he now attends Dukes University majoring in Computer Science Engineering.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

I’ve been using Future Goals for quite a few years. One of my favorite parts of Future Goals is how it combines Math and Science with hockey. My students enjoy practicing their math and science concepts while learning all about the sport using real world scenarios.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

My students LOVE playing Future Goals. They can’t wait to finish playing Math and to start the Science version or vice versa. They also like to brag when they get to complete it first in the class.

Who is your favorite player?

Steven Stamkos
