Please write a short bio about yourself and your teaching career!

I am currently in my 17th year of teaching. I have had the privilege of teaching science the entirety of my career. I decided to become a teacher out of necessity but found out that educating children is truly my passion. I love watching students achieve things they never dreamed possible. My favorite thing is to see one of my former students going on and doing great things with their life. It makes me so happy to have been a small part of their success.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Steven Stamkos because he is the team captain and leads with class and respect.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I love how Future Goals shows the practical, real life use of Newton’s Laws of Motion. Even students who are not sports lovers can see exactly how hockey utilizes science and math to be successful, and the sports lovers are able to see how science and math can be applied to their favorite sport.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

If I played hockey, I’d probably ride the bench, because my skating skills are not up to par. LOL!! But, if I could, I would be a defensive player so I could help protect the goal.
