Tell us about yourself!

I embarked on this journey fueled by a desire to instill a love for learning and critical thinking in my students, that goes beyond the classroom.I began working for the York Catholic Board in June of 2010.My decision to become a teacher was driven by a belief in the transformative power of education.Witnessing the spark of understanding in my students’ eyes has been the most rewarding aspect of my profession.Beyond the classroom, I am a coach/admin assistant for the Junior Basketball Academy, I tutor and homeschool students with exceptional and physical/mental needs, I volunteer with Sunny Boy farms teaching others about agriculture and food sustainability, I assist the seniors in the community with groceries and more.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite aspect of the Future Goals™ program is the engaging and interactive way it combines science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts with real-world applications..The interactive modules, virtual labs, and hands-on activities not only enhance understanding but also spark curiosity. STEM plays a crucial role in the game of hockey, extending beyond the rink. From the physics of puck movement and the design of hockey equipment to the engineering principles behind arena construction.

Who is your favorite NHL player?

John Tavares because he is an experienced center and team captain. I admire his leadership and offensive skills. His commitment to the team can be seen by his dedication to the game and his career. He is very consistent in his skill and effort during every game and practice.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

If I played hockey I would play in Center position because they are very crucial for both offensive and defensive plays. These players are very important during the game because they are relied on heavily for passing, skating and face offs. These players are also a high contributor to scoring goals and mind the defensive zones.
