Tell us about yourself!

I’ve been a CCSD teacher for 22 yrs, always middle school & in STEM. I love & am honored to teach my students about technology, science, & math to prepare them for high school & beyond. I knew at a very early age that I wanted to be a teacher. I studied elementary & middle school STEM for my bachelors & master in Cambridge, MA at Lesley Univ. I then found a new home in sunny Vegas in 2001. Teaching science this year, with a new Amplify curriculum, I quickly found a way to incorporate EverFi into the curriculum.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Jack Eichel because he’s from New England, played with BU & has shown that with hard work, you can overcome nearly anything.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I taught nearly every subject while at Miller & used EVERFI in nearly all of them! It is extremely easy to use, for both teachers and students. The content aligns to standards and is always real-world relevant. STEM is just a layer (or two) behind what my students know and love about hockey. That keeps them interested and often, surprised by what they learn.
