Tell us about yourself!

My name is Kristian Gellibert and I am a 5th grade math and science teacher. I have been teaching for 6 years, this year will be my 7th year teaching. I love teaching because I love seeing the “aha” moments, and knowing that I am making an impact in a child’s life. I know and understand when I have to be the enforcer, and when I have to be the mentor. I volunteer after school with our STEM club where I teach robotics.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I see Math and science in the game of Hockey. I see how much power you need to hit the puck with and how much friction it needs balance out the perfect shot. You can also use Geometry when playing hockey.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Aleksander Barkov he is my favorite because he seems like a really cool guy and my son loves him, so I love him too. I hope that one day I can ask him to have one on one ice time with my son.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would play center because my son plays center and Barkov plays that position too.
