Tell us about yourself!
I currently teach 8th grade science and also teach 7/8th grade coding. I’ve been teaching for 7 years. I became a teacher because I wanted to do a job that was meaningful to me. I didn’t know until I started teaching that I would learn more about myself and who I am then I did before I was teaching. The reason I love teaching is because of the impact I’m allowed to have on students and vice versa. I get to pass on some of my knowledge to a younger generation in hopes that they help turn around around the world for the better.
Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?
Yegor Sharangovich. I think that he represents a lot of my students. Meaning that no one some him coming or noticed his skills until he was given a chance. He has worked hard at to be where he is at, he scores, he assists, overall he is a team player and I think those are great qualities to just have in general.
What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?
I enjoy this program because of the multiple types of practice that students get to do. We talk about energy in our curriculum and my students are able to figure out the answers when it comes to those lessons. Also when they talk about perimeters this is something that helps to reinforce their maths skills.
If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?
Anything left being that I am left handed.
