Tell us about yourself!

After graduating in 1989 with my B.S. in education, I worked as a substitute for 4 years and then moved into the banking field. I also taught at a business school and worked as an administrative assistant in a construction company. With my wealth of experience, including tutoring, I was hired full time at my current school district in 2005. Over 30 years of experience has helped, but I am constantly learning something new. And that’s exactly why I love Everfi! I became a teacher because it was my passion! I love engaging students and helping students find their potential. I have passion for finding the positive. I am a 53-year-old mother of a 12 year old son, a wife, sister, daughter and friend. I am involved at my church and with my family and school. I have a side passion using cursive writing: I make chalkboard creations. I live life to the fullest and have so much to be grateful for.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

As in so many things, STEM is and should be an integral part of life. The science we see in the game of hockey revolves around many concepts from kinetic and potential energy and more. This “game” activates the students’ into seeing how science is all around them in life, especially in activities they enjoy.
