Tell us about yourself!

I have been teaching fifth grade for my entire 27 year career. I became a teacher because I love to make a positive difference in the world AND it is such a rewarding career! I have been involved in coaching and reffing soccer for over 15 years.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

As a Red Wing fan it is very difficult to chose just one favorite player. Howe, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Larkin are all fantastic players and people. However, I have to go with THE #19. Yzerman epitomizes what a captain should be. His leadership on and off the ice set a great example for fans and non-fans alike.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I love being able to connect sports to science and math. This helps make my job easier!

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

Defense. I don’t have the finesse gene, but I for sure have the block a shot and shove a guy into the boards gene.
