Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I started out coaching athletics as a college student and really enjoyed it. I love the feeling I get when a kid can learn a new skill and be proud of themselves. Coaching and teaching both have similar skillsets and I knew that I would enjoy teaching as a career!

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Whenever a student comes back after graduation to visit. It really makes you feel like you made a difference.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

My favorite part of Future Goals is the Games. They related things we were learning about in class like Kinetic Energy and Forces to real world examples. The kids thought they were fun and they had really well written directions for the students to work through at their own pace.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

Students really enjoyed it – even those who have never played hockey. It related our science content to real world examples. Students also liked learning about all the different jobs that take paces to produce a hockey game.

Who is your favorite player?

Zach Parise because he is a great player, he was born in Minnesota, and he seems like a really nice guy.
