Tell us about yourself!

I began my studies in Engineering at the University of Manitoba, but after working at summer camp, for several years, I realized that I also love working with youth. Teaching combines all the subjects that I love with the opportunity to be a part of the lives of young people. My favourite part of teaching is building relationships with my students and learning what matters to them. In the classroom I am passionate about making connections between what students need to learn and the world they know around them. I’ve used as many opportunities as possible to try new things and learn what works best for my students. I know all students are capable of being successful, and I want them to feel valued. I also know the importance of facilitating their learning.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I like the connection between math, science and hockey.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

Defence, because I enjoy supporting and defending my team.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Nikolaj Ehlers because he plays for the Jets. He is also an electrifying player to watch because he’s such an incredible skater and shooter. And he gives some of the best interviews!
