The Future GoalsTM Virtual Science Fair presented by SAP gives you the chance to use your STEM skills to submit a redesign of one element of a professional-level hockey arena to make it more environmentally sustainable. Areas of focus include facility components, arena operations or a fan activity within the arena.

Keeping Score

Judges will award points across multiple categories:

SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Hypothesis, process & procedure, observations & results and analysis.

DELIVERY

What mediums did you use for your presentation? Quality of writing including grammar and punctuation, etc.

CREATIVITY

Was the experiment unique, creative and, most importantly, the student's own work?

Entry must be an original work and cannot include copyrighted or patented materials owned by others,  or trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by any third party, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, other than EVERFI. Students are encouraged to take at least one Future GoalsTM - Hockey Scholar Math and Science lesson before submitting their project. Sign-up here.


Students will work individually to redesign one element of a professional-level hockey arena to make it more environmentally sustainable.


Students in Grades 4th-8th are invited to participate. Grades 4th-6th and Grades 7th-8th will be placed in separate categories for judging.


Students can submit their project through the online registration process between November 8, 2021 - January 31, 2022.

Winners will be notified via email no later than 11:59pm EDT April 30th, 2022 and announced via futuregoals.nhl.com once winners have been verified. Prizes will be distributed upon completion of the authorization form by the winning child’s parent or legal guardian.
