Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I love working with kids. I had some great teachers as role models and wanted to follow in their footsteps. I also enjoy helping students reach their goals and become better people and students.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

I always enjoy when former students come back and say how much they enjoyed being in my class. We talk about the different projects they did in class and how it helped them be successful in life. I also am interested in what profession they chose and how many went into a science field or became a teacher themselves.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

My favorite part is the variety of lessons that students get to select from. I like that it is not just science but math, reading, health etc.. I also enjoy watching the students work through the activity by watching the video, answering the questions to gain the knowledge needed to play the game and be successful to earn trophies.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

At first, they were unsure as it was something new and something we have never explored before. However, once they started the lessons, they really enjoyed the activities and the variety of the lessons. They also enjoyed being able to start with an easier lesson and building themselves up to a challenging lesson. This was very helpful for my students who struggle in science it helped them build confidence to try the other lessons after having been successful with an easier lesson.

Who is your favorite player?

Zach Parise- I like how hard he plays every night. He is a great teammate, leads by example, and role model for others to follow. He also gives back to his community which is so important.
