Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher for the same reason I became a coach. Growing up I had coaches and teachers that shaped my life and I want to be able to do that for students today. I love being able to give students and athletes the life skills to be successful in life and be able to have fun doing it!

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Some of my most memorable moments as a teacher have been when I get to see students be creative and collaborate with their peers. My class is very usually project based, and I love being able to see what my students can invent and innovate!

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

I love that my students can see real life applications while learning different math, science and engineering concepts. Living in a small town, south of Boston, my students are very involved in the New England sports team, so it was even more engaging that the students were able to see all the behind the scenes opportunities of their hometown team.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

My students were very excited to get to see real people using STEM in their everyday jobs. They were thrilled to be able to work with a  local team on their school work!

Who is your favorite player?

Zdeno Chara or David Pastrnak, it’s so hard to choose one!
