Tell us about yourself!

I have taught grade 6 for the last 8 years. Before teaching grade 6 in my current school, I taught various subjects from K-9 in a smaller school. I have been teaching for 11 years now. I teach at the same elementary school that I attended as a child. I decided to become a teacher because I always liked working with kids, learning new things, working with others, etc. My children participate in minor sports in the community and I do some rec sports and some volunteer work.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Mats Sundin is my all time favorite player because he was a good leader and exciting to watch.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I like how engaged the students get while using the Future Goals program. Hockey fans or not students try hard and like the format. There are many STEM features in the game of hockey. Players need to know angles for passing and shooting on neck. Area and Perimeter are also involved. Speed and Distance. Math is all over hockey.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I enjoyed playing center because you got to play all areas of the ice.
