Mr Rick Smith, I am retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving over 20 years. I have been teaching about 9 years total. I teach a STEAMA Lab to the middle school grades 6-8. I became a teacher because I love being a part of the children’s development. It is very satisfying to see the progress each one will make from day 1 until the end of the course. I am also a high school sports official in Football and Basketball and I coach high school Golf.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Wayne Gretsky, the Great one. was always my favorite, he played hard and played to win.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

We have been very involved in the Math lessons. The student s seem to enjoy figuring the angles, speed and timing involved with the objectives.
