Why did you decide to become a teacher?

As a child I loved P.E. class. I like seeing children being active and knowing that I am helping them learn how to stay healthy.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Working at the same school for 13 years, I have gotten to see the students grow up. I have them as students in kindergarten and then teach them every year after that until they graduate as eighth graders. That is definitely the best part of my job and why I keep doing it. I love watching the students grow and develop into healthy young adults.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

My favorite part of Future Goals is that the students know that there are different jobs you can do surrounded by hockey and not only playing the sport.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

They like the course because it is another way to do math and science problems. They also get to experience working for the hockey team in different ways.

Who is your favorite NHL®  player and why?

Jonathan Toews. Not only that I like it him as a great Blackhawks player but I also like him for his Foundation with the Green Bronx Machine of having children grow their own vegetables in class using the Tower Garden.
