Tell us about yourself!

I am currently a 4th grade math/science teacher. I became a teacher in order to make a positive impact on the younger generation of students. I am very passionate about the subjects that I teach and come to school each and every day attempting to make a difference. What I love most about teaching is the challenge of growing students each year both academically and personally while simultaneously being a role model. I am very active in my local community. I am the director of the Cardinal Soccer Camp run through the City of Pickerington Parks and Recreation. I also run a Speed and Agility class, Chess club, and teach multiple Summer Math Classes.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part of the Future Goals program is the connection the program makes to math/science and to hockey. Being a massive hockey fan, I love the interactive website and how it connects to our local hockey team…the Columbus Blue Jackets. STEM is connected to the game of hockey through angles, mathematics/statistics, and many science factors (such as the ice that players play on).

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

My favorite NHL player is Boone Jenner because he has worked from a 2nd round drat choice all the way to being captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets. I respect his play on and off the ice and feel he is a great role model for students in today’s generation. His charity work off the ice is admirable and should be duplicated by all players.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

If I played hockey, I would definitely play center because I love the thrill of scoring goals and the ability to act as playmaker.
