Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I have always loved working with children and helping others. I tend to be a pleaser.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

I am not able to pinpoint a most memorable moment but I have really enjoyed former students returning to visit me after they have graduated from college and beyond and let me know how much of an influence I have been in their lives. Getting emails, social media messages, or phone calls from parents and students years later thanking me for teaching them means the world to me.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

I love that my students can work on it when they finish other work. There is a variety of learning aspects to the program. It is student driven and self-paced. I like that they can pick up where they left off even if a week of time has passed.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

My students have really enjoyed it. They like the challenge of the program along with games while they are learning. They are proud when they complete and pass a section.

Who is your favorite hockey player?

Pavel Datsyuk would be my favorite Red Wing player because of his amazing stick and puck handling skills. He is an amazing skater and player to watch.
