Tell us about yourself!

My original career goal was to work for a ski company, so I got my Bachelor of Commerce was even offered a Marketing job at Sunshine Village. But when they told me that they wouldn’t pay or help with my accommodations in Canmore or Banff I couldn’t do it. I gave up my “dream job”. Fast forward, 5 years and I landed my first teaching job before I graduated from my After-degree in the little community of Falun, Alberta. I always loved kids and as a teacher you get to build these incredible relationships with so many children that will remember you forever. Great teachers are never forgotten and are well known in the community. We are like a smaller scale NHL player! As a teacher, I feel so privileged to have the power to impact the way children learn and see the world.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

How it has caught me students attention! The STEM math part, the health pieces that fit into our outcomes. These things are very appealing to my grade level, hockey lovers or not.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Leon Draisaitl – He is German and I am half German. Not to mention the way the guy plays and treats his teammates & opponents.
