Tell us about yourself!

I have been a Grade 5 Teacher for the last 6 years and I absolutely love it!!! I have been at my current school for the last 13 years. My passion is working with children and I found my calling when I started. For the last 7 years, I have also coached the Girls Hockey team at the Elite level in our little town of Okotoks. I decided to become a teacher when I Know I wanted to made a difference in the lives of children and be the teacher I needed when I was growing up. I push, motivate and inspire children everyday to be the best they can be! I have build relationships all over the school by being the social media lead for the last two years. I do the theme days and socials and bring the community of our school together. I show a lot of passion, love and joy in everything I do.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I loved doing this with my classroom and seeing the joy they have while participating in the program- I look forward to diving in more in the new year!

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I do still play hockey with a women’s team out of Okotoks and I play defence- I have always been a defence women as I protect the most valuable player and zone on the ice 🙂 I love seeing the whole game back there and showing leadership on the back end for my teammates
