Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I became a teacher to make a difference in people’s lives.  I had instructed at hockey schools when I was younger and saw the impact a person could make in a week. This made me look into teaching as a lifelong career.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Wow.  Most memorable.  There have been so many.  One of my favorites was a handwritten note from a mother at the end of the year.  They had explained how I had changed their son’s life by believing in him.  He had been in trouble in school for years.  I still stay in contact with him today.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

I have used the Science aspect with my Hockey skills class.  It is a great program that combines my two loves…Science and Hockey.  It is great that the students get the Stanley Cup at the end as well.  Makes them strive to finish.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

The students in my class love it.  It is a Hockey Skills class so they are very motivated to use this.
