Montreal Canadiens March 2023 Teacher of the Month
Tell us about yourself!
Hello, my name is Virginie Villani and I have been a teacher for over 21 years. I had the chance to work at several primary levels. I have spent most of my career teaching Grade 1. However, I am now a Grade 4 teacher at McCaig. What attracted me to this career was definitely being able to work with young people and share with them everything that excites me. I like the energy and joie de vivre of young people. It’s a real challenge every day to find new ways to reach everyone. I love helping young people and learning with them while having fun. It is a career that can be very rewarding at times. What I particularly like is seeing my former students again. I teach with one of my former kindergarten students.
What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?
The majority of my students love hockey, especially the Montreal Canadiens. It’s always very interesting to try new things that pique the curiosity of young people and motivate them more.
If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?
I liked being the goalie when I was younger.
