Tell us about yourself!

I have taught for 9 years at the middle and high school levels. I chose to pursue a career in education because of the influence of an 8th-grade teacher and my mom because they both demonstrated tremendous dedication and care toward their students. What I love the most about teaching is helping students take what they are learning, showing them how it relates to their lives, and encouraging them to demonstrate what they learned in creative ways! For example, students in my class frequently make models in Minecraft Education and create a myriad of media on Canva. Outside of the classroom, I help with our school’s E-sports team and our Explorer’s Club.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part of the program is that it allows me to share a passion of mine with my students. I have been a New Jersey Devils fan for as long as I can remember, even playing in a street hockey league that they sponsored in my town. In addition, this program allows me to combine the material that I am teaching in my classes and show real-life applications to my students.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

My favorite NHL player of all time is Martin Brodeur. Growing up a Devils fan, I remember watching him play and wanting to become a goalie because of how much he helped the Devils win (I was a terrible goalie)! My favorite player on the current roster is Jack Hughes. The confidence and realness that he brings to the games and interviews is unmatched and I feel like I am watching greatness every time he steps onto the ice.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

If I played hockey I would give being a goalie another shot because I am a pretty tall guy and maybe with big enough padding I could stop a few shots.
