What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part is the effective integration of STEM concepts with real-world applications in hockey. The program provides engaging tools and resources that align with my expertise in math and technology, offering students a hands-on experience with STEM in the context of the game of hockey. STEM is related through area of the floor and angles of hockey shots.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

As a math teacher who appreciates being in control, my favorite hockey position would be that of a goaltender. Goaltenders have a significant impact on the outcome of the game. They are the last line of defense, and their performance can strongly influence the team’s success. Much like orchestrating a lesson plan, being a goaltender allows you to control the flow of the game from a strategic standpoint. Goaltending requires precision and quick calculations which needs math!
