Tell us about yourself!

I always wanted to be a teacher. As the oldest of five, I always played teacher at home and helped my siblings with their work. When I went to school I was thrilled to pursue my dreams. I am currently a technology teacher for middle school and also work with the elementary school students for other subjects and small groups as needed to help remediate materials. I love reaching each student and finding what motivates them. That motivation drives me to reach every students needs. I spend almost every lunch period with an open classroom for the students to help me or catch up on work or have a place to go if they need it. I also do a lot of volunteer work at my sons school with his drama department, and with two charities that help with animals in need and another that helps homeless and veterans. I also instill volunteer work with my son and students. It’s always too fulfilling to give back and to set that you have something to give to make someone else happy.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Clark Gillies because he was a tough player who won 4 Stanley cups and put his heart into the game

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I enjoy the interactivity. The videos and examples have been a great way to incorporate learning with the sport which has engaged my students.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would like to be a Forward like Clark Gillies
