Tell us about yourself!

I have taught 8th Grade Science for the past 8 years. The topics that I have taught are Life Sciences and Earth Sciences between the several districts that I have taught in. I went back to school to become a teacher when my oldest was in attending middle school (mid-2000s) and saw that there was a real need for teachers where I lived. I love when students get excited about their learning. Whether it is an activity or them doing well on a test.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

I grew up in the 80’s so I grew with Wayne Gretzky being my favorite player.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I like the interactive activities that Hockey Scholar uses in the program. When I first introduce students to the program I talk about the math and science in everyday things like sports.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I think I would be a decent goalie. I have pretty good reflexes and I need somewhere that I do not have to skate that much.
