Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I became a teacher because I enjoy working with students. My passion is to help students achieve their goals and to strive to be the best individuals they can be. My favourite part about teaching is making connections with my students.

What has been your most memorable moment as a teacher?

There are so many memorable moments that I have had the opportunity to make with all of my classes. I love those moments when we are performing an experiment or having a class discussion and you see the light in their eyes of understanding and excitement.

What is your favorite part of Future Goals and how are you using it in your classroom?

The connections to the curriculum. Students use this resource as an additional tool to help make connections with real life experiences to the curriculum.

What was your student’s reaction to the program?

They enjoy the interactive games and challenges.

Who is your favorite player?

Growing up I always loved watching Darcy Tucker. He always made a presence on the ice. My current favourite player is Mitch Marner. The way he controls the flow of the game and sets up his teammates is a skill set that I try to emulate into my teaching by being that playmaker to support my students.
