Tell us about yourself!

I am presently teaching 28 grade 6 students online. To date, I have taught grades 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12. I have taught Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, History, Geography, Science, The Arts, Religion, Family Life, Health, and Physical Education. I decided to become a teacher because I always had a passion for working with children from a young age. In my teens, I led a church children’s choir and worked as a parks and rec sports and arts/crafts leader. In my early adult life, I coached soccer and was a cub leader. I love teaching because I can make a difference in maximizing any child’s learning potential. I am a mother to 3 sons, a grandmother to 2 granddaughters, and a fur mom to two rescue dogs.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

I like the program because it is grade appropriate, relevant to the curriculum, and fun for the students. Hockey applies to all the aspects of STEAM/STEM so it can be integrated in all subject areas.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Mitch Marner because he is a record breaker and is quite humble about it. He is a great role model for children because he has such a positive attitude and a focused work ethic. He is also a great team player.
