Tell us about yourself!

I was born to teach. I absolutely love teaching. I grew up playing school with a chalkboard and stuffed animals. It has been 11 years since I began teaching because as a little girl I was inspired by the many amazing teachers I had in school. Teaching hands on and having children make connections is my favorite part of teaching.

What is your favorite part of the Future Goals™program? How do you see STEM in the game of hockey?

My favorite part is showing students that math and science are everywhere especially in sports. Giving students who love sportst, who may not be pro players, another avenue to be involved in the game could be vital to their success. Students can see how engineering design, math, force and motion, and science are embedded in their favorite sport helps them make abstract connections in the classroom.

Who is your favorite NHL® player and why?

Nicklas Backstrom because he is the unsung hero of the Washington Capitals. He shows grit and determination each game. Nicklas is a play maker and steps up when his team needs him.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I would play defense just like my son because nothing says hockey like a strong D-man!
